I'm used to them being disrespected by a large portion of society. Meanwhile, they continue to gain in popularity. I'll just wait for the geezers to die off so they can be examined/discussed in the same ways as other pieces of art/culture/technology.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is now the most profitable entertainment title ever, eclipsing any film, book or video game previously, yet Mr. Ruddock insists all things video game related be placed in this one thread. Completely ridiculous.

I have the utmost respect for games as an artistic medium. But they can still be discussed in one thread.

Why not also do this with movies, then?

Because there are way more movies to discuss at any given time than games. Everyone knows that thread is gonna be GOW central for a while. Movies don’t really work that way.

This just makes things difficult for no good reason. It's not like there's limited real estate here in A&E. We deserve the right to have separate video game conversations simultaneously without everything being all jumbled together.

I’d argue it’s much simpler having it all in one thread.

You can’t just come back out of the blue and try to start changing how RM works!!!

This biggest obstacle in discussing games is the length of most games. Movies are easily consumed (1.5 - 3 hours). I can enjoy games from anywhere between 1 to 500 hours. Everyone's game experience can vary as well, unlike a movie. It is of the medium's greatest strength and weakness.

At the very least, there should be a thread for each console. Who's on board with this idea?

Less pointless and confusing than having everything jumbled together.
