I love his voice, no matter the timeline, but from 92 to 96 he was an absolute beast. All the power and feeling in the world, second to no one.

I can vouch for this.

I am also a big fan of Ed's 2006 tour voice. Say what you will about some of the Avacado songs, but Sad, Light Years, MOtH, Reign O'er Me, G2F never sounded any better than they did during this period.

yep he was really fantastic in '06.

The 2006 European Tour was something else.

yep he was really fantastic in '06.

I should go back and listen to some '06 shows. Nothing will top 2000, but I'm realizing that I was mixing up '06 and '08 as far as when I first started wishing they'd lay off certain songs. Leash/Blood back-to-back at the '08 Hartford show was the exact moment.

Of course, who knows, on a boot, maybe it's not as bad as I recall.

I really wish I saw later in the tour than the Chicago shows in 2006. They were good, but got better and better as the year progressed.

05-06 is my favorite extended live period

Ed's initial phrasing sounds Hitch-hiker ish.

Seeing our varied interpretations of this minuscule snippet of the song really underscores how unreliable the various impressions from the listening party may prove to be.

Yeah, I think it's this and the register he's singing in that warrant the hitchhiker comparison. Other than that, it's a very new sound for PJ.
