You're mostly correct and this is a terrible tweet, but there are definitely people who wallow in their misery. Black holes of negativity who choose to find the bad in everything and who are exhausting to be around.

I think Macphisto should be more careful about how he defines success. But subjectivity is not an easy thing for someone so ignorant to wrap their head around. Everything us black and white for conservative thinkers because they are so limited intellectually.

There are probably lots of different and complex ways in which people become like this, and it usually has more to do with trauma, genetics and biology than choice. Not that choice even exists technically speaking.
