When did he start stressing /adding vowels when singing? It only happens live really.
Wasn't 2003 I don't think. Afterwards at some point

Around '08 or '09 I think. It's really gotten bad in the last five or so years, though.

Right. It's a weird and honestly bad change. Everything develops in any situation and often with things we do personally we don't even realise and I don't think he realises. Cos he talks like that too sometimes in a different way.
Odd thing is and I'm no expert but it doesn't happen at Europe or overseas shows as much *i think*
Can't remember noticing it before here. I may well be wrong though.

Future Days and Habit might be the 2 pearl jam songs I dislike the most.

I dont care about the lyrics for MFS. Thats a great pearl jam song. Eds delivery is what its all about. He sounds great.

Listened to about 8 different albums tonight and then i get to lightning bolt and its just a muddled mess.
No separation anywhere to be found. Muddy. Mess.
I like the album overall but as far as production. Good god. What an abortion.

Well, we could be describing the same thing with different words. Its basically uninspiring.

It kicks into overdrive post backspacer but if you listen you can start hearing early signs way before that. Of the three great Eddie affectations (the early hur durr, the mid period vibrato, and the late period vowel issue it's the most annoying. Which is too bad, because I think he sounds pretty solid when he's not doing that. I do think BoB did a great job making Eddie sound good on lightning bolt

I mean, as much as I like S/T, ed doesnt sound great on it. But the vocals on LB are terrible.
