Source Code...gotta say I really liked it.
Duncan Jones should be directing the next Star Wars movie.Whitey McTeeth wrote:Source Code...gotta say I really liked it.
it was ok..nothing special.Whitey McTeeth wrote:Source Code...gotta say I really liked it.
Moon was way better, but I thought Duncan Jones proved he could make a good sci-fi movie on a bigger budget and grander scale.VinylGuy wrote:it was ok..nothing special.Whitey McTeeth wrote:Source Code...gotta say I really liked it.
yeah he is an interesting director. I dont think i want to see him doing Star Wars, i want him to keep making movies like Moon.turned2black wrote:Moon was way better, but I thought Duncan Jones proved he could make a good sci-fi movie on a bigger budget and grander scale.VinylGuy wrote:it was ok..nothing special.Whitey McTeeth wrote:Source Code...gotta say I really liked it.
yeah what about Moon makes him a perfect Star Wars director? the only thing they have in common is that they are both set in space.VinylGuy wrote:yeah he is an interesting director. Yeah Moon was awesome but it was much more 2001: A Space Odyssey than Star Wars. Not saying he couldn't do it but the similarities end with space.BurtReynolds wrote:yeah what about Moon makes him a perfect Star Wars director? the only thing they have in common is that they are both set in space.VinylGuy wrote:yeah he is an interesting director. I think J J Abrams is a wise and exiting choice for the new Star Wars movie..TheDapperGent wrote:Yeah Moon was awesome but it was much more 2001: A Space Odyssey than Star Wars. Also I thought about Moon several times today after seeing it last night. Which means I really enjoyed it.
I can't tell if you are serious or sarcastic here. It will be interesting to see if the right choice was made. I got a feeling they just went with the hot hand though. I liked Trek 11 but it also lacked alot of what makes Trek "Trek". Either way I hope SW gets its soul back.VinylGuy wrote:I think J J Abrams is a wise and exiting choice for the new Star Wars movie..
i see your point, still think Abrams is a better fit than Jones...he can be good with characters and he sure is great with spectacle.turned2black wrote:Star Wars works best when it relies on mood and set pieces more than spectacle. Empire, for example, was gloomier and the set pieces like Hoth and Cloud City were center stage. I think Jones would be perfect for this. He would also be good at dealing with the cheesy aspects of the SW universe, something I think J.J. may struggle with. In short, I would like a more character-driven Star Wars that doesn't need some silly droid in every shot. I think Moon showed he could handle the characters and Source Code showed he could handle the needed spectacle.

i really want to see that one.Harry Lime wrote:The Place Beyond the Pines
Basically three loosely connected 45 min movies. The first one was excellent (featuring the great Gosling), but then it slowly tapered-off. I understand what the writer/director wanted to do, and I applaud his efforts, but overall it didn't work me. Some great moments though.
i loved itdkfan9 wrote:i think i'll watch cosmopolis tonight
