that fucking egg, man. i can say i was watching that survivor series live when the gobbledy gooker hatched. somehow i'd convinced my aunt to order the ppv for me, and no doubt finding out what was in the egg was a big hook in my interest in watching the show. even as a kid i knew what i was watching was complete garbage. the undertaker also debuted and i actually recognized him as mean mark callous from wcw, so that was cool, but i had to ask my aunt what an undertaker was.

good times.

Yep I remember that well.

Mean Mark was with Heyman in NWA for a bit.

Excellent interview with CM Punk by his best friend and pro wrestler Colt Cabana. Punk opens up about why he is not in the WWE anymore. Incredibly honest and answers a lot of questions. Love Punk's honesty and this really makes me hate HHH and Ryback. Apparently Punk had an idea that Vince stole from him that got over big time. I don't want to give it away. Long interview but can't say enough good things about it. Cabana runs a great podcast if you have never listened to it.

I still think he'll eventually come back. I always though HHH going over Punk in 2011 was possibly the most egregious example ever of the wrong person going over.

Agreed. Nine times out of ten it doesn't matter who goes over. Punk jobbed to Cena, Rock (twice), Taker, Brock and Reigns (on Raw) all in a few months and he still remained strong. It's all how it's executed. That Punk/HHH match in 2011 (at night of champions) was actually really good before Miz/Truth got involved. But HHH did not need that W at all and Punk was about as hot as you can get at that time. That summer brought me back to being an every week fan again after being casual for a few years.

Punk made a lot of good points in the interview about jobbing to part timers. How if he loses to them he is there the next day and they are not. Punk/Taker (though excellent) made no sense at WM29. But Punk being an incredible physiologist got that over big time. That segment before Mania where he was dumping the urn out was sinister and wonderful. Punk's heel run from summer 2012 to summer 2013 was really quality stuff and the fact that he was producing that entertainment while getting fucked over by management is impressive. As much as I loved Punk/Taker at WM29 it really should have been Rock vs Cena vs Punk in the main event. It's made no sense that Punk has never main evented Mania. He has more than earned it. Hell, Miz did at WM27. Fucking Miz!! It's not like Punk is a glory hog either he even said he would have been ok getting eliminated in that match in 5 minutes. Maybe Punk is a little insecure but hard to blame him with who he's had to work with. I really hope in the next year or two (like after Mania 32) we get to the point where there are no more part timers. You look at the really great matches in WWE the last 3 years most of them involve Punk and/or Bryan. Punk/Bryan at Over the Limit 2012 is one of the best matches in pro wrestling the last 5-10 years. Just a flawless match. That is my wrestling fan dream to main event Mania but sadly it will never happen because the powers that be think shit like Batista/Orton or Rock/Cena is more entertaining. It's like Bret and Shawn having to fight for respect all over again. Such a shame. :shake:

I agree I think Punk will come back. It might be down the road but I see it. My hope is this time next year or maybe like Rumble 2016 and a build up to Punk and Austin headlining Mania 32 at Cowboys stadium in front of 100,000 people. Listening to Austin's podcast I'm pretty confident he will be involved in some sort of match at WM 32. I have a feeling that would coax Punk into coming back. Of course I'm biased because my sister lives 10 minutes from there and I will for sure be at that if that happens. There are a lot of rumors though that HHH and Steph have been really disrespectful to AJ though. So I could see Punk being very hard to get back in the fold. It's really pathetic that pro wrestling is like Junior High and people play favorites. I guess that is life but it still sucks for the fans.

Prowrestlingtees.com. Excellent site. Money goes directly to the wrestlers (or their estates for deceased wrestlers) which is cool. They have a shit ton of designs.

So I noticed they recently added the Heyman doc to the network. Makes me wonder, if they are going to add the DVDs to the network within months of their release, why would any of their customers buy the DVDs going forward?

Agreed for the most part. I purchased the Heyman one. Lots of stuff that won't end up on the network. Also the Sting and Savage ones. Both of whom I'm a big mark for and both sets have a lot of matches not on the network. I have sold most of my dvds/blu rays with stuff that is on the network though.

Survivor Series was really good, and I was hoping that would carry past that night. I was wrong. Raw has actually been worse than it was a few months ago(which is really saying something.) TLC has nothing on the card that interests me, if these were the pre-network days I can't imagine anyone buying this ppv.

I think the Ambrose/Wyatt match could be good. The Dolph/Harper ladder match has a shot to be the match of the night. The rest? Ugh.

Hopefully Brock is back for Rumble. Reigns as well. I did not expect to miss Reigns as much as I do. He got a HUGE pop Monday.

how many PPVs in a row is that now without a WWE title match? it makes no sense to not have the title defended at least on every other PPV. now storyline wise of course the Authority wanted to use any excuse possible to get the belt off of Bryan, but he didnt even get 2 PPVs before being stripped, and traditionally there has been a 30 or 60 day must compete clause for any champion, so its crazy that they have Brock missing that much time with the Title.

I wouldn't mind it as much if they were airing lesnar vignettes every week and building him as this unstoppable special event monster. They are just acting like there is no champion.

yeah, and have him building towards a match with someone. im sure the next match he will be in will have hardly any build and just seem thrown together like most of the PPV matches these days. but now that i have the network i will watch TLC and just hope there are a bunch of cool spots

Yeah, I mean there will probably be 3 or so good matches on that show, but that does nothing for people who aren't wrestling junkies like I am. They need ppvs that casual fans want to see. I might be excited about ziggler/Harper, but casual fans are not.
