Yes very understated.

it was an intense performance, but there wasn't much in the way of the traditional cackling and screeching, which I think was Joey's point.

Ayer's Joker looks very different than Nolan's. SS, in general, is clearly much more "over the top" than TDK. I have confidence in Leto. It seems like the role calls for some loud eccentricity.

There's certainly different ways to portray the character, but fuck me if they aren't all different shades of over the top.

I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Yeah, that wasn't at all my point... both Ledger & Nicholson actually delivered effortless performances.

Yeah, and Ledger's take (which is the freshest in my mind) made you think the Joker was expressing only 10% of his crazy. Like he was constantly trying to contain it. It made him seem like a victim of a horrible past/child hood, a lot of layers to his crazy. Not sure if the Suicide Squad version will have as much subtlety and layers.

he wasn't crazy. He was just ahead of the curve.

Heath Ledger's Joker made me want to take down society, and think, "Ya'know, he's got a point"

Leto's Joker is just gonna be a cartoon character

I mean, it has to be. They have a guy with crocodile skin in the movie.

riveting. A performance for the ages. He utterly overshadows everyone else in a film full of great performances.

This and the fear that it won't be rated R are the only possible negatives I see
