Ray (talking to Daria on the phone from prison): "I got another call from Jeffries. You have to hit Cooper if he's around tomorrow night. That's means you now Daria, you have to do this."
Why would Phillip Jeffries want Coop dead? Does he know it's Dopple-Coop?
At this point, I feel like I'm going to be really disappointed if David Bowie isn't in this goddamn show.

Oh man!
I'd forgotten that Dopple-Coop KNOWS he's supposed to be pulled back into the Black Lodge at a certain time on a certain day. I knew he knew it was coming and that's why he manufactured Dougie, but I thought he wasn't sure when it would happen: that it would happen only when Dale realized he could leave.

DoppleCoop to Jeffries: And you're still nowhere, is that correct?
Jeffries: You met with Major Garland Briggs.
DC: How did you know that? Phillip?
Jeffries: Actually, I just called to say goodbye.
DC: This is Phillip Jeffries, right?
Jeffires: You're going back in tomorrow and I'll be with Bob again.
DC: Who is this?
*hangs up*

"253... time and time again... Bob and Bob and Bob... Go now! Go Now!" - tEotA
That seems meaningful, no?

Mike: Something's wrong.
tEotA: My... doppleganger.
Holy shit! I forgot so much from this episode. Who is The Arm's doppleganger???

There was a scene with the arms doppelgänger. I thought he was screaming something.
Can't recall. I need to watch again.

I think it's right as Dale is leaving the lodge. No?

I don't think so. Maybe I missed it? I skipped ahead from E2 to E7. Maybe it's in between.
God! There's so much packed into these first 8 episodes. I can't handle it.

Coop says, "When can I go?" in the Red Room.
Laura Paler whispers something in his ear that we don't get to hear. Then Coop says, "Huuuh...." And there is relief/understanding in his voice.
Then Laura screams and shakes and is ripped from the Red Room; up and away.
What did she tell Coop? Did she prepare him Dougie? Where did Laura go? Is it possible that when the Giant/?????? releases Laura into the world in a golden orb that that moment is present and not past? Maybe he's RE-releasing Laura. Maybe the Giant/????? is giving birth to Laura AGAIN in the present and that's why she's ripped away...

This is not my own theory but something I read. What if Leland Palmer (or The Giant for that matter) accessed The Black Lodge and had a Dougie type of side doppelgänger created of Laura. He would then release side Laura into the real world to be murdered while protecting his real daughter by trapping her in The Black Lodge since he must have had some idea that Bob was controlling him. I'm not sure how much time transpires in the first two seasons but it would make sense if she and Cooper would be released at the same time (like the seemingly are in episode 1).
- This creates an interesting shift in the show, but especially in FWWM, because it shifts the real tragedy from terrified Laura to terrified Leland who can't stop what is happening.
- It also explains Leland's plea of innocence in the Black Lodge as well as his plea to find Laura.
- It also makes sense of Laura's statement that she isn't Laura, but is Laura, and feels like she knows Laura.
I'm not completely sold on the theory, but I really like it and it makes sense if a lot of the confusing things that Laura has said. It would also be a kind act to Ray Wise who was devastated when he found out that his character was the killer. It shifts him to be less of a monster.

Do we know for sure that DoppleCoop created Dougie?

I guess, officially, no. We know DoppleCoop says that he has to go back to the Black Lodge at a given time. Then he says he's not going back, that he's made arrangements not to go back. Then we meet Dougie and Mike tells us Dougie was manufactured. So it stands to reason that he did. But, no, we don't know for certain. No one has specifically spelled it out yet in those terms.

I'd agree that I like this theory in real world/audience terms but I'm not sure that I like it in actual storytelling terms.
Really though, I trust Lynch and Frost completely. I'll follow this road wherever it's headed and I'm fucking enjoy myself.

The arms doppelgänger had a neon yellow 'brain' and definitely has surfaced.

- Spoiler: show
- - So are Dougie (the original) and Major Briggs the same person? Did Major Briggs manufacture Dougie for a purpose?
- I'm loving how they are showing the growth that Bobby and Ben Horne have had over the last 20-something years.
- With the stitches on Major Briggs body, did he have something like the Bob bubble that came out of DoppleCoop?
