I finally bought the Blu Ray of the complete saga since it was half off on Amazon. Kind of excited to watch the prequels in 1080p.

I’m not entering the world of Blu rays til IX is out on Blu ray.

Then just buy one of the ultimate collector sets with all 9

Maybe. Even Netflix releases some shows on Blu Ray though.

It was shot on 35mm while II and III were shot digitally. Lucas wanted the appearance to be uniform across all three, so they used DNR to scrub all the grain (and all the detail) away. It looks like smooth, processed shit. Hopefully that gets fixed if we do get a 4K release.

Those images are badass for many reasons. Chiefly because they reinforce my idea that regardless of what Lucas says, the PT is actually about Obi-Wan.

If you look at the TPM panel from last Monday, they had clips from it in 4k.
Everyone was commenting on how sharp it looked. It was noticeable even in the live stream
