Eli deserves some sort of citation or something, but do they even have that? He's an interesting case, because in all the hard metrics that are supposed to define a HOF player he's probably a hard no, but in terms of the actual history of the NFL and the story of the game he seems like a soft yes. Everyone remembers the shock of those Super Bowl wins. As much as he seems like some doofus who wasn't as good as his brother, he quietly became one of the more unique stories in all of sports.
What the fuck, man.

They could throw his jersey somewhere inside the building in Canton. I mean, why not, since I saw this jersey in there last summer:

i actually think he should get in to HOF
he was QB for over a decade in the biggest city in America
he beat Tom Brady twice in the superbowl, including to end an undefeated season
he was an idiot savant who turned it on when his team needed it. that pass to Manningham was elite
I saw a quote about how he considers himself HOF worthy as do the people close to him. Ha.
Let’s get verb to weigh in though.

Does Rose have an HOA? That could hurt his cause.

If Rose ended up winning 6th man of the year on a championship team you could probably at least argue for him provided he maintained the production level he has shown the last few seasons through age 35. Even then it would be a long shot.
His peers do universally respect him despite what the 40 year old white guys on RM think.

Cano's right in that grey area where you can at least make a decent case for him. His career is basically an exact replica of Jeff Kent's, and he's not getting in, so... no.

Cano has a PED suspension on his record, so that'll be a no from the BBWA.
