our next jeff tweedy living room show just got scheduled for november. it'll be cool hearing all of the new songs stripped down on acoustic.

Okay. Here is what gets me about modern day wilco.

Now, 1st, I'd love nothing more than to be at a living room show. Holy shit i'd weep and be in heaven.

However, i dont feel like Wilco adds much to tweedy's songs anymore. It just feels like a stripped down acoustic tweedy song and sometimes there are strange noises.

Jeff, Jay and Glen was all you really needed in the studio.

We’re probably selling Glenn Kotche a little short here but otherwise you guys are right.

Some would probably argue Nels too but would he have really improved At Least That's What You Said? Jeff's freak out solo at the end serves the song just fine.

Other than impossible germany.. ? maybe...? i think Nels is not a good fit for Wilco. At all. That is personal taste of course but....

He helps out live but as far as studio Wilco goes he isn't vital to what makes a good Wilco song. Impossible Germany and You Are My Face are a few exceptions.

Does Jorgenson being a nice guy help or hurt though? Jay being a pain in the ass seemed to play a central role in the most satisfying stretch of Wilco records.

AM through a ghost is born is all fantastic and a perfect evolution.

Everything after has been hit or miss but all feels like a warm comfy blanket at the end of the day.

Anyone read the Spin interview with Jeff and Nels. Turns out Nels enjoys playing boring stuff on Wilco records.

I get the not Jeff, Nels and Kotche guys confused. Sansone is Ryan Adams with the Rachel 'do, Jourgenson is Maynard James Keenan as a hipster, and Stirratt is druggy Quantum Leap guy...do I have that right?
