Haven't heard the track yet but just had to say this made me laugh out loud

nothing to complain about here unless you were expecting something groundbreaking. sounds like a paint by numbers Tool song. i dig it.

These guys have a sound and they're sticking to it dammit.

Just as god intended, I listened to this through Spotify on a Google Home while cooking my kids' breakfast. The whole "it sounds like Tool" narrative isn't wrong, but it also isn't necessarily bad. I'm eager to give this a more proper listen and am much more inclined to pre-order if an LP is announced.

Preordered the CD today because the packaging sounds intense.

I liked the track fine but if it's all 10 minute tracks they might as well call in Insomnia Inoculum

Almost all of their non-segue songs after Undertow all hover in the 6-11 minute range. Seems like a weird complaint at this stage in the game.

I like the track, but the complete lack of a memorable vocal melody is disappointing.

My exact words after first listen.. not a bad thing tho its a good song.. I was just kinda waiting for a part where Maynards voice to explode.. instrumental they did at the end

It might grow on me, but I prefer my TOOL on the "edgier" side and less metaphysical. I remain cautiously optimistic.

Yeah. And if Meynard just moans his way through eight or nine other super long tracks like that this isn't going to do it for me.

I'm not listening to the single and I haven't watched the videos of the two songs live either. Just waiting for the release in 23 days.

The first half gives me Reflectiom vibes but it doesn’t peak anywhere and then just sort of ends. I’ve avoided the two live songs as well. Still excited for August 30.

I liked it.

If every Tool song was at least ten minutes long with Maynard inscrutably moaning somewhere way in the background, I think that'd be great, so this suits me well.

never gotten that much into Tool, but review of the new track is:
