Paul Ryan: This ask is absurd and offensive.
Mnuchin: It's the wrong approach.
McConnell: Unacceptable.
Trump, three hours later: I super like it.

I'm too lazy/distracted to look this up. Is this saying the GOP leaders favored not raising the debt ceiling, but Trump wants to. Who did he "agree" with this increase with if the GOP is against it?

It was Schumer, Pelosi, and Trump against literally all republicans in the room.
Donald may think that a 3 month bump will improve his odds of getting his wall built, but it mostly just empowers Dems.

Like, all debt ceiling concerns aside, this is just really funny.
Literally every payoff the GOP thinks it will get in return for humoring Donald Trump backfires horribly.
Horribly.

I'm still chuckling.
I haven't been this amused since I attended the house party in Eyes Wide Shut.

I don't think there's a more putrid piece of shit in Congress than Steve King. Seriously, fuck that guy to hell and back.

They're deporting people who are US citizens so why not.
How does that work?

Undocumented immigrants do not automatically become citizens after marrying a US citizen. There's still an application process, with accompanying legal fees.

WaPo wrote:Leaders of the Freedom Caucus met with House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.) on Wednesday to candidly express their frustrations with his leadership and his handling of the Republican legislative agenda, according to two people familiar with the discussion.
The exchange comes as former White House chief strategist Stephen K. Bannon is having conversations with hard-line GOP lawmakers about how they should exert greater influence in the fall's political fights and pressure congressional Republican leaders.
Ryan heard out three members of the influential conservative group: Reps. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.), Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), and Scott Perry (R-Pa.), the people said. Meadows is the chairman of the Freedom Caucus, which counts about three dozen members, and he has been a friend and ally of Bannon for years.

This piece is...fascinating.

In advance of the hearing, Cohen said that at the advice of his lawyer, he and the Trumps were now on a forced break from speaking to one another. “All parties thought it would be best if we ceased communication unless it was an emergency so that when the questioning occurs, nobody can say to me, ‘Well, did you speak to the president within the last week or three weeks? What did you talk about?’” He continued: “It’s good legal advice,” he said. “But it’s not the advice I want. . . . That’s something that’s difficult for me because I routinely spoke to all of them on a regular basis.”
