Because of extreme heat I basically took this week off. I ran 3 miles on Tuesday and swam at the beach for 45 mins on Thursday. But I still did my circuit/weight lifting on Monday & Wednesday. So I got in work, just not a lot of miles on legs.

But today was nice. Cool temps, overcast, not oppressive humidity. I did 7 @ a 9.24 pace. Total miles on the legs this week: 10. But that's okay. Cutting back sometimes means improvements next week.

Don't be. Just decent weather and relatively fresh legs.

my best 5k pace is barely better than that, but that’s okay…I’d talked myself out of going today, but looks like the weather may get rough the next few days with the hurricane rain moving in

Lenny has a dad dick, gnarled beyond its years. Gazing upon it should be earned.

thank u...i feel like my body is so unpredictable as to how much it can handle and out much recovery i need, but i'm definitely going to have to get in a really tough, heartrate exploding run this week

this particular race has a large amount of participants generally, so my goal is like top 400

how many participants brought you to that goal? 500?

looking at my general pace and the posted results from this races’ last few years…there are usually around 1500-1600 participants, but more than a few people just walking

i believe when i looked before it seemed like around 800 actually tried to run a good portion of it based on their times, so I figure top half is a reasonable goal

I dare you to not think about pace for a week, lenny. Just get out there and run.

i have a few times, at least during the run, when I knew I wasn’t going to break any records and just needed to get out there…but i did look afterward

i wish i didn’t focus on it as much, but i do like knowing I’m accomplishing something by having faster times

after the race next Monday i may try to go a few times the next week or two and not even turn my watch on

the few times I’ve ran in the rain I really enjoyed it…I felt like I had more energy for some reason
