Very cool--in the last week, that projection has gone up by 10k! At this rate we'll hit 200k by mid-October.
Not to spoil your fun, but they extended the predictions to 11/1. Previous number was up to 10/1.
But it *does* show 185k by October 1st, now. Which *is* a 10k increase. And also 200k around October 20th.

I’ll be shocked and thrilled if it takes us that long to hit 200k.

I really think he would have won.
If you batted .500 all the time you'd be a first-ballot Hall of Famer.

Just as a note that 10k deaths in October would be optimistic considering we're easily on track for double that in July.

I think on an instinctive level he understands that, at least partway and in his mercurial manner. He's been intermittently pushing for another stimulus check against Mitch et al. But he's a Republican so his party wouldn't support it, and he's dumber than a doornail so he just kind of forgets what he was doing and says the last thing Stephen Miller whispered in his ear.

It’s hard to say how well he really groks the cause and effect of it all. The only time he’s ever had net positive approval was when he stepped back and let Dr. Fauci deliver update briefings. Instead of enjoying the “good ratings” in an election year, he seemed to get jealous and started doing the briefings himself...crashing it to the ground.

MA plans to open public schools, this fall. We'll see what actually happens, now that we've entered "phase 3" of reopening. Though, even in redneck MA I don't see a lot of people without masks indoors.

Anyone who enters the reopening phases will see cases pile back up. It's basically automatic.
