In which BOB remains maddeningly elusive.

Billboard wrote:Pearl Jam spent the week teasing fans with a two-title-a-day tweeted track list reveal for its upcoming album "Lightning Bolt," which culminated yesterday (August 30) with the band sharing the full 12-song list and running order.

The new Pearl Jam album, which is due October 15 in the U.S., will include already released single "Mind Your Manners," as well as the two tunes the group debuted live at Chicago's Wrigley Field last month: the rocking title track, and a ballad called "Future Days." The album also contains a version of "Sleeping By Myself," a song which first appeared on singer Eddie Vedder's 2011 solo album "Ukulele Songs."

"Lightning Bolt" producer Brendan O'Brien, who also plays keys on "Future Days," tells Billboard that "Mind Your Manners" is the "tip of the iceberg" of what listeners can expect. He calls out the song "Sirens" as a highlight, and describes it by saying, "I wouldn't call it a ballad but there's a depth to it."

"Lightning Bolt" is Pearl Jam's 10th studio album and it's and the band's first studio effort since 2009's "Backspacer." "I think it's a great representation of their work right now," O'Brien says of the new album. "If you like Pearl Jam, you'll love this. And if you haven't listened to Pearl Jam in awhile, I think it's going to bring you in. That's the whole idea."

Fans will have to keep waiting for a studio version of "Of The Earth," however. The song, which the band has only played live, is not on "Lightning Bolt." "Whether that'll show up at some point, I'm not sure," O'Brien says.
This scares the bejeezus out of me.

Ugh, I wish they would stop with the "This album was made to make you a fan, does that sound fun kids?" crap.

I think all those quotes were taken from the previous interview.

Really, the whole idea? Cause that's what every music fan wants to hear, the entire album was created to bring in New fans?

Wouldn't they attribute it though if that were the case? My guess is they pulled a few quotes from a longer Lightning Bolt feature they're going to do.

Yeah, I feel as if all those quotes are badly paraphrased from the last O'Brien interview.

Im sure they are trying to have some mainstream hits, not only with Future Days, but also with Sleeping by Myself.

I'm getting bored of being treated like a child with everything written or said about Pearl Jam.

Everyone in or related to the band both sucks at and I think hates doing interviews.

But the next one better be a band member at least.

Yeah. I want to hear the band being excited about it. And I would also like to hear them talk about the songs. Because at the moment it sounds like they just treat songs as tools to grab fans with.

what kind of new fans are they looking for??? backspacer was pop music for the middle-aged. that's fine. but if they think they're appealing to young people by acting like that then they're so stupid it's not even funny. well.. it is, but still.

I want something like that Billboard interview they did before the release of Riot Act where they discussed all the songs.
Of course they sounded amazing, and after that we got those "cool" demos...

There's this guy who knows a guy and that other guy says backspacer got them plenty of new fans.

There's still like 40 some days to go. There will be a shit ton of interviews and other rollouts. It would be really dumb of them promotion-wise to blow it all now.

You got your tracklist week. Bathe in the sweet afterglow.
