Higgs, I owe some charity thousands by now. How about RM 501(c)(3)? Oh wait... that's U.S. tax law...

Take a state like NY, who wants to act like they are doing something special to get lower infection numbers. They are being smarter about things than Florida sure, but the driving factor is certainly that they received an anal pounding in March/April. 19k were hospitalized at their peak. The virus has already fucked that bitch and has moved on to the next Thot state.

Are you implying that there aren't more people to kill in New York?

Hey Burt—softball question—do you view this as just the growing pains of acceleration?

The ability to sit in a cold, dark room for 2 hours (usually alone) is one of the few pleasures I have left in this world, and it's been taken away from me. Try having some empathy for a change.

hmmm good question. I don't think anyone really factored in a plague. But yeah it's probably just growing pains.

Depending on the brand of accelerationism you subscribe to, this could either be good or bad in the short term, but in the end, technocapital always wins.

Australia (in particular 1 state of ours, Victoria) has gone from nearly no cases over the past month to a week with 1,000 cases. I wonder if this is of any interest to the rest of the world. We were close to eradicating it to now experiencing a second spike ( not that we have really experienced a spike).

If I was watching this from afar I’d find it extremely defeating. I would be looking at NZ and Australia with hope.

Yeah was discouraging seeing this. Oz is our plan B if this mess doesn’t start getting better stateside.

I recall you need something like $10M of "planned investment in the country" to move there, could be wrong.

But I think the celebration in AUS/NZ was premature, as it is currently in other parts of the Global North as well. There is no evidence of long-lasting antibodies, so at best we are just gonna see peaks and valleys until a vaccine is available unless nations somehow seal themselves off or we luck out and the virus evolves to become less dangerous. Over everyone over 65 dies.
