Yeah, I think these are all realistic things to want from an interview without being unreasonable. I mean, he's being interviewed because he produced the record, and the best he can do to promote it is say "If you love Pearl Jam, you'll love it,"? I'm not sure why this is so hard to understand. They've surely done several interviews already and they've probably talked about it til they're blue in the face. They're also doing some kind of special PR thing with Steve Gleason and gang. However, it makes no sense for publications and/or Ten Club to release anything 5-6 weeks before the record comes out. There will be plenty more, at the right time.
My only worry (by this point it's obvious) is that as you say, *the band* is not even talking about it. Brendan O'Brien seems much more invested; I'm OK that he produces albums, but I'm not so OK that he's their spiritual and commercial director.
