I'll always wish that Matt would crank up the tuning of the snare a few notches but otherwise they sound nice; loud in the mix for a change, and you can hear ghost notes and hi-hat intricacies

It should be all about natural room ambience, but, surely....you can't expect a bunch of sixty year-olds to actually hear the record they've just made?

This track is modern radio production 101. Mix is good, though!

I'm fine with modern radio production 101 if everything sounds nice and crisp and clear and not muddy, it is 2024

In anyone else's experience or opinion , could I join ten club today and still be able to have a shot at fan club tickets?

Eh. Unlikely. With fewer shows and stops limited to mostly big cities these days, the competition for presale tix is insane. My seats in Chicago N1 were so “bad” I just bought side stage (mikes side) row 5 on stub hub 30 mins before the show began. Yep, I ate the cost of the fan club tix and was so worth it.

My member number is 203xxx and I’ve been in since like 98. So, I seriously doubt you’d have much luck. Just my .02 though….

Yes I think so.

As I recall, when tour announcements are made, eligibility for tickets is based on being a club member no later than the previous day.

Seniority doesn’t matter in the lottery as far as getting tickets. I think we all have an equal shot. Seniority matters for the location of your seat.

Gotta have those bangerz for the summer festival crowd who only know who you are because of their parents and their "hip" uncle!

I've accepted at this point that the best I can hope for from modern PJ is a compromise between what I'd ideally want in another universe where they continued to take a Neil Young career path, and... that

They wouldn’t want you to miss out on anything.

:D I love this...perfect!

As an aside, I've personally committed myself for this album/tour cycle to quiet acceptance when Ed throws fifty-seven unnecessary vowels into each syllable.

Thank you for recalibrating me. I should try harder to be in a state of gratitude, at this point. Anything more from them is a gift, really.

There are only so many chord progressions that can be done.

I didn't hear it until someone said it, but it's there, and so what? The extended instrumental version on Wikipedia sounds more like something off Badmotorfinger than anything.

I think this is going to be, yet again, another case of the music being great but the song being “meh”ed because of the vocal melody and lyrics.

Well, QOTSA's last album has been getting tons of complaints in audio/fan circles about how horrible it sounds, so maybe it's an unintentionally backhanded compliment.

I guess I wasn't clear. You might "win" in the lottery, BUT - my point here is if you're joining the 10c in 2024, you really need to ask yourself this: how do you feel showing up and finding that there are entire sections of non 10c members with better seats?

Bottom line: unless you have enough seniority, you can likely get better seats through other avenues.
