this can be easily explained

the first statement is true

the second statement is a smokescreen so they can hoard, given the first statement

which reminds, me i should buy some lighter-weight masks maybe a seersucker or linen, the one i have is too hot for this weather

They ran 100k tests. Still pretty high positive rate but people continue to obsess over cases when by itself it is a pretty useless stat.

Whatever.

Right now I'm chatting with 3 friends who live in Florida who have a kid, a sister, a co-worker, and four other friend/family members etc with cases. Some are real sick. They all believe they will contract it too.

So it's not just "stats", let alone "useless" ones

How is it a useless stat anyway? Speaking numbers only?

By itself it offers no context, especially since the health douchebags say we are only catching 1/10 cases

What would be a meaningful stat then? I understand it's far from perfect , but what other indicative gauge do we have besides # of positive cases, deaths, tests, and poplulaton?

Look, all I'm saying is that posting "15k positive today in Florida" tells you nothing.

And I'm not sure any of the statistics are meaningful at this point. Hospital capacity maybe? The virus is going to do whatever it wants and confirming 10 percent of the actual cases out there on a day to day basis is pretty pointless.

I get what you're saying. I suppose it has context for me because I know Florida has been having around 10,000 cases a day..but yeah, that extra 5,000 might be a blip or Florida still might have 10,000 on average a day anyway.

And I realize it's also pointless without a per capita context as well.

I guess the context is in my own head, because to me, that's the largest number I've seen in one day for any one state. New York's highest one day new case # was 11,571, so I guess that's why 15,300 is so startling
