The quote is technically correct... but the fact he retweeted this should put to rest any doubt about his fit for leadership in government as the distinction made in the tweet doesn't matter.

A huge amount of them had grandfathers actually fought against the actual Nazis. I dont think the tweet is promoting Nazism, I believe it’s intended to poison the well and keep people from feeling sympathetic towards the feds that DOGE is firing. Going after the Department of Education is not a popular move

Very weird that people ignored the Mao/Stalin part. Maybe the tweet is a bit poorly worded because it ignores the responsibility of the tyrants in charge, but the sentiment is clear: millions of people died because of regular human trash mindlessly "just doing their jobs".
