Re: Let's Play Two: Live from Wrigley Field
Looking at the soundtrack two stand out. Why is inside job on here? Surely that could have been replaced by masters of war. It's not a great song live or otherwise. And secondly I still don't get the last exit live and don't think I've ever really heard a great live version. To me it only works as a vitality intro and not as a standalone song.
Masters of war is so amazing though.
And from what I've seen the wrigley one was much better than the others on YouTube. I heard a clip once from a 2006 tour I think where they played it heavy and fast and it was AMAZING. This version seemed more like that

Mike should have been louder in the mix throughout, and that Corduroy call-and-response needs to disappear.
Probably won't watch it again.
Thank you. This was an indulgent missed opportunity.
The pearl jam footage was incredible. Then endless cubs bullshit meh

The performances were great. Especially for this era. They were on point.
The Cubs stuff wasn't obnoxious.
The best parts, though, were the club footage from 25 years ago, Dennis Rodman, and young Ed walking around Wrigley in an old pair of Air Jordans. So....yeah....90s baby, woooh!!
PS - You gotta love Steve Gleason

Inside Job does sound really good. Sure since the lyrics aren't great, but when it sounds this good I don't care.

I just listened to Alive from this while watching Alive from Pinkpop '92 on mute. Was pretty fun. They play it pretty damn close to the same speed.

Anybody who was at Wrigley that night will attest that Inside Job was an absolute highlight of the weekend and one of the best moments for many longtime concert goers. That one was a must have for the film.mikejasond wrote:Looking at the soundtrack two stand out. Why is inside job on here? Surely that could have been replaced by masters of war. Inside job gets an unnecessarily hard rap. It not the worst song on the album by a long stretch. There are actual musical embarrassments on that album and it isn't among them.

Not a fav of mine by any stretch, but Gleason’s strength made into a great moment.Tuolumne wrote:Anybody who was at Wrigley that night will attest that Inside Job was an absolute highlight of the weekend and one of the best moments for many longtime concert goers. I think it's one of those songs that if you've experience what the songs talking about it is deeply impactful, like it is for Steve Gleason. It's a song I get choked up
listening to.

I can't believe how many people are struggling with going to see a god damned movie.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Re: Let's Play Two: Live from Wrigley Field
I would say that Let's Play Two is perhaps only worth seeing in the theater. I would have judged it much more harshly if I watched it at home...I don't have a Sonos so maybe that would have changed my experience.
The movie is really well done. It sounds great loud and the Cubs stuff is interesting and a fun angle to take with this and I'm not a baseball fan. To me it really positions the band as a legacy act, so much so that it almost felt at times like the movie was a bit of a farewell, but that was just my take and may be related to the fact that it was building up to the Cubs world series win. I was with a group of friends who were at best casual fans, so the 90's heavy set was fine with them.
Anyway, if you have a chance to see it, do. I'm as jaded about PRAMG pearl jam fan as the next RM poster, but the movie really made me appreciate the band. A real Jamily moment for all....
