Returnal really isn't that difficult when you get the hang of it.
1. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES)
2. Mario Kart (Wii)
3. Half-Life 2 (PC)
4. Twisted Metal 2 (PS1)

7. Metroid: Zero Mission (GBA)
8. Missile Command (Arcade)
9. Rocket League (PS4)
10. Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Father (PC)

It's more about pattern recognition and luck once you learn/experiment with the items and weapons.tree_ wrote:Returnal really isn't that difficult when you get the hang of it.
Yeah, and when you spend a lot of time exploring and gathering items/upgrades, it's less to do with luck and more patience and persistence. The gameplay is so goddamn fun/visceral I think I will 100% the fucker.Monkey_Driven wrote:It's more about pattern recognition and luck once you learn/experiment with the items and weapons.tree_ wrote:Returnal really isn't that difficult when you get the hang of it.

It's getting to the point where I have to REALLY care about the setting/protagonists and gameplay loop before I tackle an open world game. Horizon excels in all three areas. I'm sure it will be absolutely gorgeous too. That studio is filled with technical wizards.tragabigzanda wrote:Same. This is probably one of the best games of its ilk, but I just don't care about this type of game anymore.tree_ wrote:just had a hard time getting into it

I think you should try Returnal.Revelator wrote:tree_ wrote:man.. the way you guys talk about horizon and with the new one coming up i may give it another try.. just had a hard time getting into it.. partly due to the character animations when talking.. looked like those theme park robots... also I played it on the base PS4.. should look and feel better on ps5some of the characters models and animations, outside of the main character, were pretty wonky at times. The open world, enemy AI and animation/originality, and the story were all rather engrossing though. Plus the 3rd person action/adventure genre is my shit so I'm all over this one.
I'm going to try again this weekend I think. I've actually been kind of hooked on Resident Evil Village lately, which came out not long after Returnal.tree_ wrote:I think you should try Returnal.Revelator wrote:tree_ wrote:man.. the way you guys talk about horizon and with the new one coming up i may give it another try.. just had a hard time getting into it.. partly due to the character animations when talking.. looked like those theme park robots... also I played it on the base PS4.. should look and feel better on ps5some of the characters models and animations, outside of the main character, were pretty wonky at times. Was hoping it would be here by Christmas.CopperTom wrote:Pokemon Arceus dated for January 28.
Nintendo must have another big title planned for it's holiday release. Zelda or Metroid would be my guess. I've read that the Prime Trilogy HD Remaster is 100% complete. I've also read Nintendo's E3 (and / or summer Nintendo Direct) will focus on Zelda and Metroid. More than 1 Zelda will be featured and big Metroid news.E.H. I always wait to watch these single game deep dives until the 4k video is posted. Will check it out later.CopperTom wrote:Horizon looked, more or less, as expected. The hookshot and glider inclusion didn’t impress me (be your own IP), but i’m sure it’ll improve traveling through the world. I sure hope there isn’t a lot of underwater sections.
Agreed. They haven't shown a single image or video yet. My guess is it'll be their big Holiday 2022 release (v. Fable v. Metroid).Revelator wrote:The most unsurprising PS5 news of the year
