This isn't right, but it's interesting. I appreciate a less is more approach sometimes, and I'm a sucker for the high-hat. No one works it better than Charlie Watts.

Apart from Hail, Hail, I could get on board with this
You have shitty taste about No Code.
I think it’s an awesome album full of 3-4 star songs, but only one 5-star song. And I think Yield has like theee 5-star songs.
you asked for it (kinda)

I think it has 5-6 songs that are top 20 all time Pearl Jam.

Though "Wishlist" is a good example of why, even if I largely prefer the songs on No Code, I like the sound of Yield better. That song is filled with a lot of little details that paint lovely colors around what is a very simple composition

He's sore from having to admit he doesn't know what implied harmony is

neither Jack Irons nor Matt Cameron are my favourite PJ drummers
that's not to deny they've had great moments, and Jack has plenty here; they're mostly in the most Neil Young parts - Jack suited that brash country bar brawl by day, sitting on a rocking chair on the porch listening to crickets by night type of groove; he was lazy and lagging, not tight and cracking and funky like my Dave A-worshipping child self so missed when No Code came out
so at this point I don't quite feel like Stip does about him, or this album, but I completely understand his "playing to a different song" comment; it's a feeling I have about Matt, who again, has had his fair share of times to shine, but has also made some befuddling drumming choices that I wouldn't have made, if I was in his seat

No Code perfectly exemplifies my feeling that Pearl Jam were (are?) both the best and most frustrating band in the world

Sometimes may be one of my favorite studio tracks from this band; it's uncomfortably intimate for a full band performance, in a way that the band was never able to capture live even when they first premiered the song. It's a similar feeling to what you get on Wishlist, though that song is adorned and arranged in a way this song is not trying to accomplish.
