I've seen her talk about the song a few times and she can't even describe it. She seems sort of stumped by it, too. And hasn't (to my knowledge) ever spoken specifically to what/who the song is about.

That's about as detailed as she gets. I love that. I love the whole mystique of the song. It's like an alien being, that song. And she sings it like she's giving birth to it. Swoooooooooon.

"Champagne Year" just came on shuffle and I was struck by how AC's enunciation on the line "enough to keep the cobwebs clear" resembled that of old Extra-Syllable Eddie: "keep the cobwebs clee-hee-yurr..."
I fear I may never be able to hear this song the same way again.
