What are your guys' thoughts on the album's production? Besides being a fucking amazing album I think it's also a mighty fine sounding album.

Completely agree - some great guitar tones and other creative noises and effects here and there. Listening to 'Keep Your Eyes Peeled' with headphones in the dark is a trip, especially the 'underwater is another life...' bit.
'Vampyre' is also a deliciously warm listening experience
I also like how you almost don't notice the differing drummers and guest vocalists (I'm still struggling to pick out Elton in FF...)

The production is terrific. Maybe the best sounding album they've made. The drums don't suffer from the separation of SFTD and the bass is thicker than that of LTP.
It'd be nice to see what happens if they worked with Godrich, Rubin, Albini or some other big producer with a signature sound, though, just to see if the artistic vision changes at all or if Homme would reduce that producer to little more than an engineer.
I ordered the deluxe vinyl from Matador last night. The CD is in stores here on Friday, can't wait to get through this week and get my hands on it.

Great production...actually all of them sound great...Rated R still is my favorite one....Homme working with some of those names? i dont see it...he seems more interested in other names like Chris Goss..

Barresi, Goss, Kasper...all those guys have served the Queens well. I think that Shoemaker's Rated R sounds a little thin nowadays, but the ideas are all there and it is still a wildly dynamic record, which is kind of rare.

I'v never downloaded a youtube video before but I'm grabbing this one. I'll share if anyone here wants a copy when it completes. Not sure how it will turn out since it's my first time. Looks like it will be about 600MB .flv file. Depending on the audio quality we could get someone to use the flac audio the Dime posted to sync up to the video.

Do these guys have US tour dates yet? The live shows are going to look and sound great based on that video from the Wiltern.
