Isn't it bizarre that Mike also wrote Faithfull, arguably the band's best song?

They probably felt bad for him and included it.

I don't think it's nearly as bad as it's made out to be.
I'd rather listen to Inside Job than Unemployable, and possibly gone and/or big wave.

But I REALLY wish Cold Confession had made the record instead of one of those.

You mean that really boring out take that really doesn't go anywhere?

Cold Confession sounds like it could have fit in on the back half of the album nicely with Army Reserve.

Cold Confession sounds like it wound up right where it should have. On the cut pile.

There, I fixed it for you.

It is a little boring but it has some pretty interesting parts, especially with speaker splits between the guitars. I hear more potential in it than I do the final version of Inside Job.

I enjoyed this post.

I think Mike is the writer I like the least, bracketing Given to Fly and Mind Your Manners. What else has he written solo?

I am fairly sure Mike didn't write the words to "Faithfull." No small asterisk there.

Ohh, I do love those last two songs. Present Tense is good too. I need to revise my opinion

(although FoN is great despite Mike's writing)

I believe he wrote everything for Last Soldier, as well, which is a really nice song.
