Good movie, not sure it deserved best picture, but I liked it quite a bit.

I think Nolan generally does action pretty well, I just wanted him to delve more into the story of DiCaprio's character's mental state. I thought the stuff about him and his wife losing touch with reality was the best part of the movie. That last action sequence could have been cut in half.

interesting. i was never one to care much about character development and storytelling...in the past.

i pretty much felt the same way about the losing touch with reality. i wanted more.

the action in that movie is so meaningless. armies of guys attack them constantly and get extremely close, yet can only hit one guy. its comical. It gets so tedious by the end.


I felt like I missed something. Was there some sort of dream rule that says the mind's defense system really sucks?

Watched Django last night. What a fun movie. Just great. However, once Leo and whats his face (Jew Hunter) were taken out of the film, it went down hill. Or, just barely sputtered through the finish line.

Overall pretty great flick though.

yeah i thought the final act sucked. the movie just didn't have the magic of inglorious basters, no?

I'm with you on this one, Devin.

I will say though, that whole dinner table sequence at Candyland is probably the best out of the two movies. Arguably of course.

i feel like if you are gonna spend most of the running time showing how terrible the bad guys are, the revenge better be sweet. it wasn't.

I preferred Django. Yes, the end wasn't great, but I still like its pacing more than IB. I also like the performances in Django more. DiCaprio and SLJ were fantastic and Brad Pitt annoyed the living hell out of me. Django was so much fun, all the Candyland scenes were amazing and the KKK scene was pretty fucking hilarious.

For the record, I don't intentionally try to have the opposite opinion around here.

i agree with you. i liked it, too, besides the weak ending.

Django is on-deck for me. Will probably watch it this weekend.

Just recently watched "Searching For Sugar Man", a documentary about a forgotten singer from the late 60's / early 70's who was huge in South Africa, but had no idea. It's a real interesting story. I'd give it two thumbs up and would highly recommend it to any fan of music docs.

Check it out. It's well worth it. I liked it so much that I bought 'Cold Fact', his debut album, after we watched the film.

This is also on deck for me. Hopefully I can watch both Argo and Django this weekend, but, I'm going to a Nats game Saturday, and Sunday is supposed to be nice, so I may grill / hang out outside.

I watched Django with my dad last night. I'm starting to enjoy hanging out with the crusty old bastard.

The movie was excellent, I went in prepared for a disappointing ending and it wasn't as bad as I though it'd be. DiCaprio played a great villain, Candy Land was a pretty horrifying place and I've seen areas in the 'Sip that look just like it.

I was ready for the movie to be over by the end though, it was a long one.
