10 miles in 70 minutes

After almost a month of decent sleep, the past 3 nights I have been back to my old self. Only sleeping about 3 hours each night. I got up at 3:30 and hit the canals at 4:15. I again wore my tight '70s short shorts and things went swimmingly. 70 flat, with an even split and decent half-mile finishing kick. I was surprised to see a few runners out there. They must be gearing up for the Pat Tillman run, which is less than a month away and has turned into the biggest running event in PHX.

I'm doing a double today. Trying to make up for lost time.

Just finished up a pretty good squat, bench, bent rows workout. Really thought I'd still have jello-legs after burning through some excellent snow conditions at Stowe & Jay Peak this past weekend.

13.1 miles in 1:46

Did my half marathon course for the first double in a long time. Did 7-minute miles until the turnaround, then died a slow, painful death on the way back. Pretty much crawling by the end. Not great, but got in 23 miles today and may try to put in 90 this week. Barefoot in the park tomorrow.

Best work out of the year yesterday...

Ran the sled hill - 15 times, with pushups, planks, a few sprints in between
Drove home and thought what the hell, i still have some energy so i went straight out on a 3.5 mi road run at a pretty good pace for me. I was spent, and feel great today.

so i do dips on triceps day on the machine. it has the counter weights so you can adjust it. so if its on 70 lbs ad you weigh 200 it is as if you are doing dips at 130lbs

tonight i started on 60, then second set 50

last set i just put a 10lb plate on the padding, it sunk and did the dips sans help

10 miles in 75 minutes

Skipped the barefoot run yesterday as my legs were still pretty wasted from the 23 the day before and it was hot as fuck. Hit the canal after dark tonight and ran into a pack of wannabe gangbangers near my turnaround. They were walking 6 abreast and taking up the entire width of the canal path. I said, "excuse me" to no avail. I said, "excuse me" again and nothing. I squeezed between two of the douche bags, making sure to wipe a nice amount of sweat on one dude's arm. He said, "What the fuck!" I ran on and then realized I would have to face them again because my turnaround was coming up and I sure as fuck wasn't gonna alter my route to avoid these pussies. I turned around and was certain it would be ugly when I passed them again. As I approached all but the one dude I wiped sweat on cleared a path for me. I kinda did some mental evaluation and realized most of these kids were probably misguided Mormon youths and I didn't really have to worry about a gun. The dude crouched down like he was waiting to tackle me. As I got closer, I cocked my head back and unleashed a Texas-sized snot rocket that landed squarely in his face. He covered his face and bent down and as I passed, I gave him a shove to the ground (although I contemplated punching him in the back of the head). I picked up my pace just in case, but I heard his friends laughing at him and figured he had learned a lesson. I kinda kept an eye out for cars following me for the rest of the way home. All and all, an eventful run.
After I showered I wondered if I had done the right thing. He could have just been kidding and maybe was gonna get out of my way at the last second. I felt a little guilty as these were clearly just 16- and 17-year-olds fucking around. But a few of them were pretty big dudes who could have fucked me up. Pretty sure I did the right thing and I'm glad I didn't punch the guy.

90? Damn.

So far the most I've done in a week is 40. I don't think my wife's ever done more than 55/week and she's a marathon veteran.

Good on ya, brother. Keep up the good work!

I'm feeling pretty damn guilty about this. I should have just ran around them initially. :?

You're in luck, the work-out threaders recently OK'd the inclusion of Jazzercisers.
