Strangely there's no album that I adore. Wildflowers is 70% fantastic. Honey Bee is so damn good. Grew Up Fast from She's The One s/t is mega.

His greatest hits album is pretty much perfection and is all I need. But Damn The Torpedoes is probably the one.

Wildflowers is my jam through and through. Not a bad song on that dude, says I.

But if I had to pick ONE song... prolly Mary Jane's Last Dance has gotta be THE ONE, for me. Great atmosphere. Good lyrics. Atmospheric and being an Indiana boy the line, "But she grew up tall and she grew up right with them Indiana boys on them Indiana nights" holds a special place in my heart. Even though I'm not a weed smoker/user.

But, yeah, his greatest hits is really all you need. I'd probably put Full Moon Fever above Damn the Torpedoes also. But now we're nitpicking.

Wildflowers, She's the one.

Two fantastic albums.

Such brevity.

Hope on board is so beautiful. Walls, c'mon. Zero From outerspace is great. Changed the locks.

Love it.

His doco and the 30th anniversary concert is so good. SO GOOD.

His greatest hits album was a huge influence on my early music listening ears. Being 12, listening to here comes my girl, and thinking about my crush. Oh yeah.

A girl that I had a HUGE crush on in the 9th grade gave me Wildflowers for Christmas that year. She gave everyone else in the class Gak.

We never did quite figure out how to make something more work. Either she was dating someone else or I was or whatever. But we almost kissed one night on the roof of a hotel.

At least you have Wildflowers. And your wife.

Tom Petty is a class act. I love him.

I have to confess that I also really adore The Last DJ.

The last 2 albums were fun but hardly essential.

I really didn't get the fervor over Mojo. I should revisit that.

There are lots of Jeff Lynne haters out there. All of his productions have a distinct sound...the big snare drum, the shimmering acoustic guitars, the distinct backing vocals...it rubs some people the wrong way, kind of like he's a less annoying Mutt Lange or something.
