She is a little annoying as written in some of these sequences. A bit too early teenage rebellious fantasy

This will basically be the 5th Hunger Games movie.

Yeah, that wasn't at all my point... both Ledger & Nicholson actually delivered effortless performances.

Yeah, and Ledger's take (which is the freshest in my mind) made you think the Joker was expressing only 10% of his crazy. Like he was constantly trying to contain it. It made him seem like a victim of a horrible past/child hood, a lot of layers to his crazy. Not sure if the Suicide Squad version will have as much subtlety and layers.
I was thinking about this yesterday and I have to say the more I think about... the more I realize that Ledger's Joker actually was pretty, if not understated, then subtle. Just a brilliant performance.

This and the fear that it won't be rated R are the only possible negatives I see
I actually like Will Smith in these types of roles. It's his Oscar bait roles that annoy me.
+ 1

Have you seen the Rogue One trailer? When it ended my ten-year-old said "They're trying to be like the Hunger Games!"

I want to hate Will Smith in the witty action guy roles, but I like him regardless in them. Fuck, I even enjoy the hell out of Wild Wild West now. It was TERRIBLE when i saw it as a teen. But now I really enjoy it.

I like what I've seen so far from Smith, albeit not much footage. I think he's going to put a studied take on the character and knock it out of the park.

He's been in NYC lately (off and on) taking acting classes. I'm always impressed when I hear about major stars honing their craft and trying to get better. Will Smith is going to be fun in this. I'm not too concerned.

I think he's feeling very humbled after his recent string of box office defeats. I have a feeling he's trying to get back to something.

For the record, I don't hate Will Smith. I just think he isn't good for the role.

I wish more than anything he was coming back for ID 2

I think you're right. And I'm happy for him. He's so much fun when he's on top of his game.

His reaction after he got whoever to do the fire thing is cookie cutter Will Smith. It made me cringe.
