Yeah, focusing with the shallow depth of field is what I struggled with the most- especially with moving insects.zeb wrote:Looks like you're doing just fine, FJ. Macro is all about getting that shallow depth of field just right, which typically means getting the eyes in focus (when you're working with insects). Your first and third shots are great examples of that.

I wish that more people would post in this thread.BigRedLedbetter wrote:Well tough to follow Zeb but I took this gem yesterday.
Yeah i've been slack. Winter was brutal here and it's tough to get out to do much shooting when the snow is 6 feet deepzeb wrote:I wish that more people would post in this thread.BigRedLedbetter wrote:Well tough to follow Zeb but I took this gem yesterday.

. The time when the snow is the most interesting to shoot is also the time when it's the most dangerous to be out driving. Or maybe i'm just so fuggin sick of it that I rarely see the beauty in it anymore.
However, it's been warm and rainy for the past couple of weeks so the snow is mostly gone now save for a few large piles here and there. But here's a couple snaps from back in February. My bride and I were snowed in and couldn't leave the house to go to work that day. Not my finest work (it was -25C!) but it's about all I did outdoors this winter.

i don't visit these parts of the forum often, but wanted to say that this is pretty fucking awesome zeb.zeb wrote:

There's a certain softness to the colors in zeb's pictures that I like a lot.Chris_H_2 wrote:i don't visit these parts of the forum often, but wanted to say that this is pretty fucking awesome zeb.zeb wrote:
