Actually, I didn't find it that disturbing, because it just seemed like a bunch of people fantasizing about horrible things (I don't think there was any evidence of the puppeteer actually killing or raping or eating anyone, if I recall correctly). The Jonestown Massacre episode was a lot more disturbing to me, even though I was already pretty familiar with the case. Actually, that one reminded me of RM too.

Yeah, this.

It wasn't fun listening to those chat room transcripts. The content was gross but it wasn't as disturbing to me as a few of their other episodes (like the one where you hear that Detriot mother talking about torturing and killing two of her children in her own words) because it was all just sick fantasy.

Based on you guys being weirded out, I'm starting this from episode 1. Seems well produced, so far.

Good episode of improv 4 humans this week. The whole episode is a conversation between batman (besser) and superman (armen Weitzman)

I feel like I've seen bvs now. It was ok.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Just discovered the Celebration Rock podcast. Great stuff, lots of Klostermann talking music which I always enjoy.

Wait, Klostermann has his own podcast now???

Sorry, not his podcast. It's hosted by Steven Hyden (former Grantland writer) Klostermann's been a guest 3 or 4 times out of 30-odd episodes so far. Good music nerding all-around.

Kristen Wiig's WTF is so boring. I don't think I'm even gonna finish it.

You want to hear something wild? I was screwing around in iTunes yesterday and realized I had over 200GB of podcasts downloaded.

She's kind of boring, though.

You know you can set it so episodes auto-delete when you're done listening to them, yeah?

And if you're holding on to them...man. I barely have enough time to listen to the new episodes of shows I like, I don't even know how people do the whole "listen to them again!" thing.

I have two or three podcasts I'm getting close to dropping. I love the hosts, they're great, it's just the content that I've moved on from. If I could just find a way to listen to the top of the podcast and then have it skip automatically to the emails section at the end and drop the whole middle that would be great. Some people index the shows, so maybe I'll start checking those so I know exactly where to FF to on the episodes.

So the 200GB+ of podcasts was the result of a number of things:

1. These things are so easy to download that I frequently don't even think about the space they take up. If I find a podcast I like, I will sometimes just download every episode thinking, "Hey, I'll listen later!" and then I forget they're there.

2. I don't use the "delete after I listen" feature because my iPod isn't synced with my iTunes library. I'm extremely anal about how everything is organized so I don't trust my computer to know what I want deleted and what I want to keep.

3. With the recent shift towards podcast subscription services, I tend to just do #1 above for most podcasts just in case they suddenly move to Howl or something and then I can't download the old episodes.

4. I'm not a huge fan of going back and re-listening to things, but I have done it for things that have especially moved me. It's nice to keep those things around.

Since I made that original post, I've freed up about 100GB by deleting things I'm sure I don't need anymore and transferring things to an external hard drive. My laptop is breathing much more easily.
