Whenever someone says good things about him he loves them. Whenever they say something bad he hates them. At this volume, it's possible that he is going there. It's more likely that he is using it to pull in his supporters, telling them what they already believe. Whether he's doing that because he thinks it will help win the election, or because it will help sell his news channel as the only one those people can trust is unknown.

What is definitely, unquestionably true is that he has no problem taking the chance that these claims might lead to violence or worse...as long as they serve Donald Trump.

I think it is a combination of the two. His ego wont allow him to believe he's actually losing, but I think being so vocal about it is to

A.) avoid direct responsibility
B.) fire up the idiots that support him.

I love that he let Giuliani and the like spend all morning saying "he meant the media, not the actual election," before tweeting that he actually meant the election.

It's just him directing blame on something other than himself. He's never to blame for ANYTHING.

I'm sure he goes to these rallies, and there are thousands of people there to see him. They all tell him how important he is and how they're going to vote for him. And he thinks "well, I've been all over the country and talked to thousands of people and not one person has told me they're going to vote for Hillary. How could she possibly beat me in this election?"

Some people are just soaking in bias, and they don't know it's there.

I just too a political poll. There were a lot of political questions, but it whittled down to these super biased questions about Deborah Ross, our candidate for Senate. Stuff like "Deborah once took a stand against sex offender registries that would allow parents to know what sex offenders may be living in their neighborhood," or "Deborah Ross once defended a man who broke into a house and attempted to rape a woman while her child watched, even going so far as to claim the defendant deserved a lighter sentence because he failed to actually rape the woman."

I said, "What is this? A push poll?"

The woman laughed and said yeah.

Democrats should be highlighting these emails. "Hillary wants industry experts to have input on industry regulations" sounds a lot more like "she's not a dangerous idiot" than "she's corrupt!" And "hey, look she was discussing possible ways to address the heroin epidemic" would be a great pivot point.

I applaud your redirection there, but the point was we have Trump saying "the media is lying to you to protect hillary" and CNN goes does exactly that. Kinda depressing they would feed the beast like that.

My point is that I agree. There hasn't been anything to the emails yet that is worth half a groan, and a lot of it could arguably help her if she wouldn't always knee jerk towards secrecy. There's no need for the media to protect her here.

But I also think that the lack of real impactful substance is exactly why the media doesn't need to be talking about them much at all. When one candidate is caught admitting that politicians often can't afford to be honest, and the other is openly promoting conspiracy theory nonsense to an angry, raving fanbase...which includes distrust of the election process itself...then I consider it neither balanced nor responsible for the media to spend any time pretending the former means shit.
