I like everything thats related with her family. i wouldnt say she is useless...i see this show being more of a family and character portrait than a whodunit

yeah that's fair and accurate. Something about her specifically annoys me. I could watch the grandmother play Fruit Ninja all day though.

After flirting with starting The Expanse on Amazon, I started The Investigation on HBO and feel like I'm going to stick with it. Very Scandinavian, very dour.

I watched the pilot and the first half of the second episode, and the production value of the pilot was noticeably higher. Like they blew their wad on the first episode and then had to scale back.
