Nightcrawler.
I liked it but not as much as I expected. Jake Gylenhaal's never been one of my favorites. His character is not likeable. While that's not a bad thing necessarily I never felt a connection with him. It's a slow build. The best part is a great, tense sequence late but I didn't like the ending. I'm sure there's some nuances and subtleties I would pick up on watching a second time but I'm not in a big hurry to do so.

I didn't think we were supposed to like him. I didn't. That's kind of what I liked about the movie. He was a sleaze.

Watched Bound last night. Super impressive style. Very confident, especially for a debut. I wish the Wachowskis had never become successful, because they immediately lost their minds after The Matrix. I wish they had kept on making modestly budgeted genre movies.

-Puppet Master (1989)
-The Warrior (2001) (Randomly stumbled upon this while perusing Netflix and watched it on a whim. What a great surprise. Irrfan Khan is awesome.)
-Bound (2015)
-Cat Run (2011)
-Bound (1996)

Nightcrawler was pretty fantastic. The lead character was written and performed perfectly, and while it has a dark perspective for sure, it goes all in and it really works. Very well done.

The Bourne Legacy - I liked it better this time through a lot more than when I first watched it

Rewatching We were Soldiers for the first time since it came out back in 2002. This movie is insane.

The electricity of Mel Gibson and Barry Pepper (tearfully!) conversing in the same scene is almost too much to handle.

I...wasn't a fan. But Gibson and Pepper were great.

Now I'm watching The Passion of the Christ (also for the first time since it came out). I think I love it.
