Aw fuck. I actually met him.
20-something years ago, my first year of x-Ray school, some students went to a conference in Franklin, TN. (Suburb of Nashville where all the money is). My fellow students and I got there around mid-afternoon and shortly thereafter, complimentary drinks were offered to conference-goers. This was the last time in my life I got drunk. And let me tell you, Wease was DRUNK. So at some point that evening, we see a Rolex off section of the lounge area and we figure out Billy and Frank from ZZ Top are over there. They were in Nashville for something and were staying at the same hotel. They were kept separated from everybody that night, and in my condition, it was probably for the best.
I love this kind of shit.wease wrote: Wed August 19, 2026 1:33 am20-something years ago, my first year of x-Ray school, some students went to a conference in Franklin, TN. The next day, hungover to hell and back, we’re out in the parking lot and Billy and Dusty are out there racing remote control cars. After they finished, Dusty went back to his room and Billy stayed behind and took pics with us and hung around for a little bit. I got my picture with him. Very short guy. Amazing how much taller I was than him. Cut to the next morning we’re all walking the lobby of the hotel and as I’m gong somewhere, Frank’s walking toward me pulling his suitcase. As we meet, I say “hey Frank” he responds “hey, how’s it going, good to see ya.” And we each keep going our own ways.
