Re: Anybody want a Corona?
Restaurants in town here were closing down their kitchens in the evening and just serving drinks to college students.
Now the County ordered all in-person dining closed at 10pm.

Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

yup the smart way to do it is in small steps, to minimize public backlash. that early closing mandate is foreshadowing.B wrote:Restaurants in town here were closing down their kitchens in the evening and just serving drinks to college students.

Still don't understand why people would voluntarily eat at a restaurant or go to a bar right now.

think about young people and how social and horny they are. think about people who live alone and just want to have a conversation with someone in the same room. i agree it's a stupid and unnecessary risk, but if you put yourself in different shoes, you can understand it a bit more.verb_to_trust wrote:Still don't understand why people would voluntarily eat at a restaurant or go to a bar right now.

basically, it comes down to emotion versus logic. and like anything with being human, emotion often wins out.
it's the same reason you see seemingly intelligent friends posting pictures of themselves on summer holiday with a large family group wearing no masks. they can't imagine not going up to the family cabin over the summer and seeing everyone, even though they know there's a virus and it's real.

which is why i'm all for hardass lockdowns, etc. people can't be trusted to use their brains before their hearts, so restrictions need to be over the top where folks can't even have those scenarios as options.

Very true. Everyone around here has been diligent when going out "in public" with masks and social distancing, but not so in private with family/friends & neighbors.spike wrote:basically, it comes down to emotion versus logic. and like anything with being human, emotion often wins out.

Re: Anybody want a Corona?
Im fine with it if you know and trust the circle of people you are around. I know my family is taking it seriously and mostly staying home and when venturing out wearing a mask. Wearing a mask out in public makes most sense to me because i dont know those people or trust that they have taken it as seriously as me.Rob wrote:Very true. I see co workers who seem lax with masking around each other, as if only gross strangers are able to be infected by the virus.

I think people just want to feel human and regain some sense of normalcy in the face of a deadly virus with a 99.9% survival rate.verb_to_trust wrote:Still don't understand why people would voluntarily eat at a restaurant or go to a bar right now.

Only 850,000 more Americans are going to die at that rate. Might as well get a burger!macphisto wrote:I think people just want to feel human and regain some sense of normalcy in the face of a deadly virus with a 99.9% survival rate.verb_to_trust wrote:Still don't understand why people would voluntarily eat at a restaurant or go to a bar right now.

Let’s only concern ourselves with survival rate, because the symptoms are no big deal.macphisto wrote:I think people just want to feel human and regain some sense of normalcy in the face of a deadly virus with a 99.9% survival rate.verb_to_trust wrote:Still don't understand why people would voluntarily eat at a restaurant or go to a bar right now.

Re: Anybody want a Corona?
How about instead of a vaccine we just jab everyone with the virus? We're all going to get it eventually anyway.
