Holy shit I want this album. What do you say we all congregate here tomorrow night while the listening party is on, and.... listen to the silence?

Swallowed Whole may be interesting then. And would have been the logical precursor to Where's The Sponge?WtOB? wrote:its pretty obvious its about ed's wife. im pretty sure lightning bolt is about ed's wife too. how boring. he's been with her for 13 years or something and has 2 kids with her and decides now to write all his songs about her like he just met her.

Jeeves hasn't known anything worth knowing since the 90s

Re: Lightning Bolt - October 15
Hah, I've been scouring the internet for a leak. No dice. Found a bunch of virus's though.
Anyways, I'm pretty excited for the listening party tomorrow as we will finally get to read some impressions of the album. Also, it's at 4:30 Germany time, so we won't have to wait long.
I'm excited to find out what out what types of songs are gonna be on there, but I'm going to make some guesses here.
1. Getaway - Probably a fast rock song to start the album. I hope it's long and epic with solos. More Life Wasted, less GSMF.
2. Mind Your Manners- We know
3. My Father's Son - I hope this is another fast rock song. The molotov jizz and lightning bottles give off a hard edged vibe.
4. Sirens - A long epic mid tempo ballad. Hope it's as good as advertised. McCready is supposed to a "beast" on it. Hope that's true. Weary about the piano, but I'm hoping it's great without being too cheesy.
5. Lightning Bolt - I hated it at first, and then it's really grown on me. I can't help fucking singing along "Lightning Boooolt" in the chorus and then hating myself for it. It could sound really great on the album with some well structured solo from Mike.
6. Infallible - Hmm, who knows. I'm thinking its a mid tempo rock song. Supposedly it has depth so I have high hopes for this one. Sirens Lightning Bolt and Infallibe could be a great 1,2,3 punch on the album.
7. Pendulum - My favorite artwork . It looks badass and it's a cool name for a song. Being number 7, I hope this is a monster rock song. I'm hoping for Do The Evolution and Insignificance levels here. I'm ready to be dissapointed.
8. Swallowed Whole - Awesome artwork and I'm very excited for it because I think this could be the soundcheck song. I really hope it is, that song sounds awesome already. A mix of Kashmir, Tremor Christ and Nothing as It Seems.
9. Let The Records Play - Ughhhh. Hopes are low for this one. Don't like the name and it sounds like the typical out of place fast song on a PJ album. I'm thinking SuperSonic, Big Wave, Get Right, etc. Hope to be wrong.
10. Sleeping By Myself - I hope they did something truly great with this. It's a nice little ukelele song, but hopefully it was always meant as a PJ song. I hope has a lot of instrumentation (drums) to make it more than what it is, otherwise it's gonna be a throwaway song.
11. Yellow moon - Intrigued. Maybe it's the dark brooding music we heard in the tour announcement. Long dark and epic would be an awesome way to end the album before....
12. Future Days - Ehhhh...I hope there's more instrumentation on the final version. I hated it at first but I've grown to like the melody and I love what Stone or Mike is doing on the slide guitar. I hope for some Matt Cameron drums too but probably won't get it. It's basically an Ed Solo song. The BoB keyboard sucks but whatever, the song is pretty nice.
It's a real possibility I'll be completely wrong tomorrow.

I've tried a few. Got a bunch of ad bullshit and .exe files so I obviously didn't continue.

Yep, but it contained their 11th album 'Shazbot Hullabaloo', and 'Lost Dogs 2'. What a bummer.Buby wrote:Did anyone dare to try either one of those shady links?

Sadly not, but it will contain a single snare drum hit from Of The Earth as a musical interlude.Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:So it won't be called of the earth?Sgt.
