The only thing that upsets me about the album is Sleeping By Myself. The version is not bad but there should never ever be a song on a PJ that wasn't written as a group. Unforgivable. Take away SBM and put in anything in near the ranks of Off the Earth, Let it Ride or Cold Confession and you have the best PJ record in 13 years.

Do you mean as a group, or
for the group?
If it's the former you're talking about like a third of their catalog.

And also, SBM is the best song on the album.
It would be great if the band got round to recording the rest of the Ukulele Songs just for comparison's sake. I love the full band Can't Keep and SBM more than the solo versions (though I'm grateful both exist).

That's also absurd. I'd rather they didn't waste their time, and work on new music instead.

This is absurd. They should be focusing on their families right now.

You think the arrangement of SBM got significantly in the way of writing new music?

Add to this the fact that FD falls under this category as well, but unlike SBM, it definitely should've been left off.

New music like... "Pendulum"?

At first I had no hesitation in thinking this is better then their last three albums but now I put it above No Code and Binaural and I really rate those albums highly. I'm actually trying to find songs that I don't like, thinking maybe I like the album cuz it's still new but most of them are only sounding better ! MYM is the only song I skip at times.
So far my rankings are:
Swallowed Whole
Pendulum
Infallible
Getaway
Yellow Moon . Round out the top 5.

I think this track alone wasn't necessarily a bad thing for them to do, I just would've preferred to see it as a b-side to one of the singles.
My point above, is that I think it would be an entirely pointless waste of time for PJ to re-record all of ukelele songs. I think if they did a one off bridge school gig with a full band acoustic version of the album, it might work. But for them to sit in a studio and try to re-work all of the tracks, could be almost as bad as "The Spaghetti Incident".

I would be delighted with full band versions of all the uke songs if they turned out as well as SBM.

Well to tell you the truth if they included a couple more of reworked Ed solo tracks to make LB close to a 60 minutes album i wouldn't mind, if they can't fill a record another way.

I'd have rather they added the Matt song they were talking about once.

Either way there is still space for about 4 songs on LB and they don't need months to complete a song so the reasons why this or that song is or isn't on LB or Backspacer for that matter are elsewhere.
