Oh. The scene with Chewie trying to eat was priceless.

I'm not going to say that it doesn't belong in Star Wars, after the Ewoks and Jar Jar, and plenty more, but it sort of took me out of the movie a bit.
Usually these things get some criticism from the audience, but the director must have done something right, because this time around people are pointing at the silly comedy as highlights, and people around me were laughing at it. I did laugh when BB8 crashed into the stormtrooper, and when Rose stunned Finn.

The Porgs are my favorite cute, kidsy thing ever introduced in Star Wars.

I loved how this movie made the Jedi Order from the prequels exactly what they were, not what Lucas wanted to show, a corrupt,
arrogant and failling religion.

And if you think about it, the whole Anakin arc of bringing ballance to the force, wasn't about killing the sith, but reseting everything the Jedi represented. Destroying both the Jedi order and the Sith.

Luke himself said it, and Yoda aknowledged it to, by destroying the Tree and the Books.
Quoting Luke: Everything (the Jedi did) was wrong.

It actually made me apreciate the prequels a little bit more.

And godamit, Lukes death made me cry.
Back in Ep. 4, He was watching the twin suns of Tattooine, trying to figure out what whas his purpouse, what would his life be.
And now, on TLJ, he died watching the twin suns of Akch'To, knowing that his purpose in life was complete. He died fulfiled. He did what he was born to do.

THIS WAS AMAZING.

agreed all around, Kurt

Also i think this is easily the most beautifully shot star wars movie, although obviously not pathbreaking like a new hope

This was great and ties into and is a payoff from the new canon, where we know he’s traveled the galaxy and met many different cultures that have different views and uses and applications of the force so no one way is the true way. It’s open to all equally.

did anyone notice a red kyber crystal hanging in lukes home? I will look for that again next time I see it but was pretty sure I saw it. I was sort of expecting it after leaked images of a Luke toy with a red kyber crystal on a necklace. If that's true it's gota be Vaders.
