It would be great if the band got round to recording the rest of the Ukulele Songs just for comparison's sake. I love the full band Can't Keep and SBM more than the solo versions (though I'm grateful both exist).
That's also absurd. I'd rather they didn't waste their time, and work on new music instead. :D
You think the arrangement of SBM got significantly in the way of writing new music?
I think this track alone wasn't necessarily a bad thing for them to do, I just would've preferred to see it as a b-side to one of the singles.
Well to tell you the truth if they included a couple more of reworked Ed solo tracks to make LB close to a 60 minutes album i wouldn't mind, if they can't fill a record another way.
I'd have rather they added the Matt song they were talking about once.
Either way there is still space for about 4 songs on LB and they don't need months to complete a song so the reasons why this or that song is or isn't on LB or Backspacer for that matter are elsewhere.
Yup :search:

Swallowed Whole still doesn't do it for me. I pretty much like every other tune though.

I find myself listening to Future Days more now. It may move out of the dud-status. The piano is still cringe worthy to me, but the rest of the song is rather pleasant. Good vocals, too. I was glad they didn't choose to play it in Bmore though.

I also think My Father's Son may take the throne for me as best song on the album, I can't get enough of it. It was a 3-way tie between MFS, YM, and Pendulum.

It's a shame My Father's Son seems like it's already been dropped (or close to it).

It's more likely to be that it's too hard on Ed's voice than that they don't like it.

Agreed, I hope it makes a few more live appearances. Last night Blood and Habit sounded a lot more vocally demanding/grating, but then again I'm not a singer.

Yeah, that's true I guess. Maybe they want to create some more space for LTRP :finger:

This beast of a thread is dying a slow death.

Will this thing be locked officially at some point? If so, I feel we need proper closure. I am sad already...

That's when the thread really gets going though.

Who likes the songs more now that they've gotten to hear them in the World Series? Are the songs passing the World Series test?

Can you imagine driving around in the car, listening to the world series, getting a handjob, and hearing one of the new songs come on? you can't come up with a better test than that.

If you could do one of these things by itself, which would it be? That should be question 1 in our RM registration test.

chud's team is actually in the World Series, so I feel like he should be the one try this test. And then we can just call it the chud test.
