Edinson Volquez planned to pitch the Toronto Blue Jays inside in Game 1 of their American League Championship Series, just as he did during their contentious series earlier this season.

Then, after chatting with Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez, he changed his mind.

"We know they got a lot of pull hitters over there, and power hitters, and he told me, 'How you feel pitching down and away?' And I said, 'I feel sexy tonight,'" Volquez recalled. "And he was like, 'All right, we're changing the plan right now. We're pitching those guys away.'"

Man, aint that the truth.
Does it irk anyone when a pitcher wears a single digit uniform number?
I HATE that.
Stroman!
When Hank Aaron first came up, he was given the number 5, because he was too skiny for double digits. (or at least thats what I've heard Uecker say) he switched to 44 his second season.

dont the Yankees only have 1 single digit uniform number left after Jeters got retired?

I know. I texted my buddy who hates David Price how he was dealing through 6 and then it all fell apart.

Did they retire Torre's #6? If so they have no single digits available. I think they retired #8 twice.

When you are too much of a pussy to throw to a base, cant handle the bat one single bit and you mandate David Ross play in a major league game you better be lights out. Lester has just been a slight disappointment this year as a result....
