ftfyEdinson Volquez planned to pitch the Toronto Blue Jays inside in Game 1 of their American League Championship Series, just as he did during their contentious series earlier this season.
Then, after chatting with Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez, he changed his mind.
"We know they got a lot of pull hitters over there, and power hitters, and he told me, 'How you feel pitching down and away?' And I said, 'I feel sexy tonight,'" Volquez recalled. "And he was like, 'All right, we're changing the plan right now. We're pitching those guys away.'"

When Hank Aaron first came up, he was given the number 5, because he was too skiny for double digits. (or at least thats what I've heard Uecker say) he switched to 44 his second season.philpritchard wrote:Stroman!numbers wrote:I HATE that.CopperTom wrote:Does it irk anyone when a pitcher wears a single digit uniform number?@SkitchP wrote:Man, aint that the truth.TBAMTS wrote:Between the "automatic" double conversation and the celebration conversation this thread has become very dumb.

Did they retire Torre's #6? If so they have no single digits available. I think they retired #8 twice.MadTIGERmaN wrote:When Hank Aaron first came up, he was given the number 5, because he was too skiny for double digits.
