They got old

seeing that pic, these guys are so old. fuck, boom might even die on stage. it takes them 5 years to write an album. this is prob the last one

It really is amazing how they are all so much better on their own these days. Each of their solo albums/side projects offer something far more interesting and unique than what they do as a collective anymore.

Granted, the above thought could all be washed away if the new album really is a different effort.

Wording it like that, you make it sound as if they've been trying to write something since 2013, struggled, and Can't Deny Me is what they finally came up with. I think it's more of a matter of them not bothering to make new music and sometime in 2017, someone said "Hey we should make a new album" and the others were like "Okay, yeah, sure."
