It was fourth wall breakingly bad, and kinda pointless considering she's basically God.

I had a blast, and now I have stupid questions.
Do we see the corpse of Black Window in the pit of the Soul Stone in Infinity War ?
How can Cap return the Soul Stone? He just has to give it to Red Skull?

Re: Avengers: Endgame SPOILER THREAD
as soon as CM posed i knew the girl power scene was coming up and thought it was a nice nod
the asgardians of the galaxy was a good touch with what they are doing in the comics now
i thought ant-man really added to it. everything everyone said was for sure to happen kinda didnt. yes ant-man was central to the plot but he wasnt the center point. yes CM helped defeat thanos but she didnt defeat thanos.
i really thought they would off cap and keep IM around
as they zoomed in on cap in the final battle everyone let out a sigh knowing damn well the avengers assemble was going to be said
watching him wield mjolnir was great
i like how they opened and closed tonys story with I am Iron Man
i hope they expound a little more in the future movies about what happened while they were dusted. if i recall, peter was like, i remember not feeling well then dr strange said, its been 5 years lets go and then they all stepped through the portals to join in the battle.
i liked how they used pete to tie in all the avengers in the final battle
RDJs banter with kids is nothing short of golden

I tend to think they also shoe horn in Okoye in a bit because of the popularity of Black Panther. She is a great fighter but has no powers and a pointy stick. Shuri at least has laser cats.

the whisper of ‘on your left’ at the start of the assemble sequence was a great understated kick off to a marvelously overindulgent scene

Re: Avengers: Endgame SPOILER THREAD
So what is the future of the avengers at this point. You have Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Falcon, Bucky, Antman, Hulk, War Machine. I'd gladly see a movie with those guys in it as a team, and really enjoy it, but obviously it wouldn't have the Main Event feel of the prior Avengers movies.
They are in a weird place right now as their marquee remaining characters don't fit well with the avengers concept.
Black Panther is in Wakanda
Captain Marvel is in space (and powered to a degree that it's hard to gel her with the rest of the team - once Thor got mega powered he never really did much with the avengers as a unit)
Thor is off with the Guardians (and with Captain Marvel and the Eternals coming up it looks like they are teasing space stuff)
Dr. Strange's power set and world is an uncomfortable fit with the avengers
Spiderman works great but who knows what those rights look like
That new character they're gonna introduce Shangi-chi or something? might fit well.
I wonder if the Avengers still exist as a background concept, and they just continue with global team up event movies that don't revolve around the avengers per se (so some terrible thing happens and all the above have to get together, but not as a formal team).
They may not need to rehabilitate the Avengers at this point since once they work through their current slate they can start exploring the FF and X-Men side of the universe
It will be really interesting to see what sort of drop off there is with Cap and Iron Man out. Thor is still around and more popular than ever, and as solo characters Black Panther and Captain Marvel seem to have the potential to be as big as, if not bigger, than Iron Man and Cap. I guess it'll come down to how much of a stand alone brand the MCU is as an idea - did they launch something that is even bigger than the characters that launched it. While Black Panther and Captain marvel were huge successes, you can make the arguement that they are at least slightly enhanced by their association with a world that has cap and iron man in it

well no more than hawkeye or black widow ever being present. I was fine with it. I mean, what were any of them contributing next to Valkyrie, Scarlet Witch, and Captain Marvel

The way they set up a lot of the upcoming stuff. Spiderman obviously, The Falcon/Winter Soldier show, presumably Guardians 3 (maybe featuring Thor?)
The final battle was more compelling than anticipated
I kinda forgot Captain Marvel existed until she was tearing through Thanos ship
The Tony Stark Death Scene. Honestly the most genuine the Tony/Pepper relationship felt throughout the whole series.
Captain America living a life, and the passing of the mantle.
I know dime hates Ant Man, but I actually really like his "eager to be there" enthusiasm the vast majority of the time. Maybe the most "real" of any of the characters.
Loved:
The way they incorporated so much of the previous movies and the unexpected appearances.
The Robert Redford scene, and very much the recreating of the elevator scene in the different context especially.
The Captain America fighting Captain America scene (I can do this all da... I know!!!)
The tenuous normalcy of 5 years later
Thanos Vs. Captain Marvel/Cap/Iron Man fight
The total acceptance and all in willingness for fan service (cap with thors hammer)
Didnt Care for:
I know it becomes a thing in the comics, but the "Girl Power" scene was a little over the top.
Obvious Black Widow was going to die the second it was her and Hawkeye going to get the Soul Stone together
Fat Thor as a joke went on Entirely too long.
The deaging CGI on Rene Russo was... not good. Not as bad as Falcons facial hair though.
I enjoyed the Thor slob and it felt legit (I can understand how feeling that you are responsible for the death of trillions of people would mess you up for a good long while). I wish he was cleaned up for the final exchange, but there was no way for that to happen in the timeline of the film.
I really enjoyed his tension with Starlord at the end

Hawkeye's skill set meant he was always sniping from a distance. Rarely in the middle of the massive battles. And Black Widow using guns helps keep her at a distance as well, and i guess her more acrobatic fighting style makes it a little more believable for me.stip wrote: I enjoyed the Thor slob and it felt legit (I can understand how feeling that you are responsible for the death of trillions of people would mess you up for a good long while). The star lord tension at the end was good. And by go on too long, I just mean from the time he's revealed until mommy time. Not "impotent hulk" in Infinity War egregious, just wasn't funny enough to be a point of emphasis for any amount of time.

I guess the avengers will still exist but we wont get more movies from them in a long time...Guess the phase 4 announce will come this year.
I loved the farewell to cap...it was so tasteful and so good with the character. Loved it. And i also loved Tony´s death.
Natasha will be back i guess? she has a movie coming next?

I've only seen the first Iron Man and the first Thor. What else should I watch? All of them? I can't keep up with the Marvel films.

There's... a lot you'd need to see to really get a lot of this.darth_vedder wrote:I've only seen the first Iron Man and the first Thor. What else should I watch? All of them? I can't keep up with the Marvel films.
I think you can most easily skip Black Panther, Spiderman: Homecoming, Age of Ultron, the first Ant Man and Guardians 2 maybe?

Yeah, it seems overwhelming. Everyone seems to love Black Panther, so I want to check that out, and the other Iron Man movies as well. The Civil War movie trailers looked interesting. I'll start somewhere (Iron Man 2?) and eventually make my way through most of them.@SkitchP wrote:There's... a lot you'd need to see to really get a lot of this.darth_vedder wrote:I've only seen the first Iron Man and the first Thor. Black Panther is by no means a bad movie, just not "required" as to understanding the larger story. Iron Man 2 can be skipped for sure. Even Iron Man 3 really. You could probably skip Captain Marvel as well.
I think all the Captain America Movies are required viewing for this
Iron Man, Avengers, Infinity War, All the Thors, one of the Ant Mans (probably the 2nd), one of the Guardians (probably the first).
