No idea how you binged this, Dime. 2 at a time is all my wife and I can process in one sitting. Eps 5 and 6 tonight. The guest star in ep 5 caught me by surprise. He crushes everything he does. Ep 6 is the Tina episode. I was teary half the time. So 6 eps in and I’m still in love with this show. Are the last 4 where it goes off the rails? Because through 6 it’s as good as it ever was.

If you’re going to make the off the rails argument, to me, it starts with the last 15 minutes of Ice Chips (episode 8).

Sure but it didn’t need to be an entire episode. How many long close up shots of JLC expressing do we fucking need.

I think it’s because the character is insufferable, which is not an indictment of JLC because I think that’s exactly the point: mom is a hard person to love but you can see her recognizing that and trying to be there in her own ways

E6, Napkins, is up next; Ayo Edebiri directs the episode so very curious of that.daft twat wrote:No idea how you binged this, Dime. 2 at a time is all my wife and I can process in one sitting. i think the episode and all within it achieved that.

I did not know Bernthal made any type of extended appearance this season, this episode was stellar.oasisfan35 wrote:E6, Napkins, is up next; Ayo Edebiri directs the episode so very curious of that.daft twat wrote:No idea how you binged this, Dime. 2 at a time is all my wife and I can process in one sitting. It was fine up until the last ten minutes or so. It literally felt like they just left the camera on a closeup of JLC's face and forgot to call, "cut."dimejinky99 wrote:You guys are heartless

Re: The Bear (FX/Hulu)
8 episodes in and I'm yet to feel disappointed in this show. There are lows, of course. Each season has had them and none this season are appreciably lower than any previous season. There hasn't yet been a high like Forks but I didn't think there can be. That episode was perfect, one of the best in the history of all TV.
We'll see how the season ends but there's nothing here that has me doubting the team. The Bear is still far and away the best show on TV and each episode has had at least one scene that's really hit me. It's been a solid A through and through.
Ice Chips was outstanding. JLC is a god among mortals.
