I still hurt that it wasn’t called this
I watched a YouTube review of the album where some guy called it this the whole way through without correcting himself, it was pretty funny

I'm most likely going to hit the entire faction with a steel chair while your backs are turned. I'm too horny for the notion of the five of them in a room locking eyes while playing to wait this time

Lest not forget they released QE as a single with no video and months after that they released Retrograde with a video.

Also QE got a video in 2022 I think? When Gigaton got re released with the live cd

I'm not sure to put this here or the Andrew Watt thread. Could go in both I guess.

I thought this was a good read.

Funny, I read this when it first came out and thought while it was flattering for him, it didn’t reflect well on any of the bands. The general thesis seems to be “when you’re over the hill and have chronic writers block, call this guy.”
Yea I guess you could read it that way if you want.

Trag, do you feel similarly negative about Johnny Cash's late career work with Rick Rubin?

Trag has been a big ol' Negative Nancy of late. I'm worried about him.

I'm really glad it's "only" taken 4 years for a new album. Gigaton still feels pretty new to me. The 6.5 years between LB and Gigaton was a lot. As a Pearl Jam from only 2006/07 it kinda sucked to then only get BS and LB (they're two worst albums) for the next 13 years.

I'm not. He can warm himself by the fire of his 45,000 hot takes.

He's a good man. Sometimes he tries too hard is all. Not all hipsters age gracefully.

Trag's a good dude...You may not always agree with his viewpoint, and his methods are....unique? Sure...unique...but, I admire his conviction and his passion when it comes to all things audio

I will give him this- I cannot listen to the Rolling Stones' "Angry" when it comes on Spotify (as a recommended song after playing Dark Matter, lol) because its loudness level is set to shrill. In that case, I can see how it absolutely interferes with my enjoyment of the song. However, I am not a Rolling Stones fan and it doesn't bother me that I have to skip that song. Being a Pearl Jam fan, I haven't felt that way when I hear Dark Matter, but in this context I can at least empathize with where he's coming from as far as that type of sound quality.
