there is no rationale for not going for two in that situation. you're essentially forgoing trying to score from near the goal line so you can take your chance at winning a coin toss for the opportunity to try to advance to near the goal line so you can try to . . . checks notes . . . ah yes, score. also, i don't remember a time when the chiefs lost a coin toss at home going into OT.

the clock management made it all the worse. it was asinine to call a time out with 30 seconds to go with the ball on the 1 yard line. they got lucky the chiefs' drive stalled at the end of regulation. they very easily could have lost it in regulation.
