Hey, can any of you recommend a tape deck that's relatively easy to get? Doesn't have to be top-of-the-line, just workable.

scored Mirrorball on discogs last night. $40. graded VG+/NM- and the seller has a good rating.. still a little nervous but if it shows up as promised i think i got a good deal.

Finally got it today and its beautiful. Records are mint and the reason the sleeve was vg+ was because of a very minor cut in the opening and the fact that the price tag tore off a little of the artwork. Barely noticeable. This is probably my best score to date.

Is it the European pressing from the 2000s? I've seen it at record stores for ~$30, but I haven't pulled the trigger because I don't know how it sounds (afraid it's bootleg-ish).

That's a lot for Core and Purple. I think I would have done the same....actually I'd have probably just put Core back, told myself how much I'd just saved myself and still got Purple

Listening to Badmotorfinger now. It seems to be a 2003 euro pressing and sounds fantastic. I would recommend this pressing no problem.

If it's not dirty, then it may just been over-played. Heavy spinning will wear out the grooves and create distortion.

If it's not dirty, then it may just been over-played. Heavy spinning will wear out the grooves and create distortion.

A new record should never be like that - at least not in my limited experience... Is your needle dirty/not sitting correctly?

Nothing else ive played sounded that bad

I guess ill try and re-set the needle and see if that helps

What does it mean when the inner or outer grooves sound better or worse? I've always thought my outer grooves sounded a little rough compared to the inner...
