Generally speaking, all things being equal with the main set, a concert with a great encore is better than a concert with an average encore which is better than a concert with a bad encoRe which is better than concert with no encore. That show had no encore. Your suggestion is very odd. That's all.

I think your metric is a little odd: does anyone actually sit down and listen to 2.5/3 hours of a Pearl Jam show for pleasure? I sure as hell don't and I've listened to tons of live Pearl Jam shows; what's enjoyable in person definitely isn't what makes for a perfect listening experience after the fact. That St Paul show, discussion of quality aside, is the perfect length for me.

If it's not a show you attended, the quality of the performance is all that matters. The length of the show and the songs played are pretty irrelevant.

I swear if I said water was wet, you would somehow disagree. I phrased my metric in such a way where it is nearly irrefutable. But to you it doesn't make sense. This was a concert without an encore. This was a concert where PJ was the opening act. Maybe you should stop listening to concerts after the main set then. How many people would choose a one hour PJ concert to a 2 or 3 hour concert? Do you think any of these 6 opening act shows are in the Top 10 2006 shows? Top 25? Top 50? I know you don't think it's better than any of the Australian shows.

I realize everyone has their opinion and best is subjective, but the guy asked for underrated or under the radar shows - this is neither. This show is an afterthought for a reason.

If you listen to PJ concerts for any reason other than pleasure, you're doing it wrong.

I hear you. Very few I truly dislike. Maybe I should have said songs I "prefer." For example, I would prefer to hear Breath rather than SoLaT each time, every time. Animal to Go. Hail Hail to Last Exit.

The length of a show is irrelevant when listening to the bootleg. I can't remember the last time I listened to an entire show all the way through in one session.

Man, Boise 2000 is so fucking good. This might be my favorite show of all time.

I just recently bought the touring band dvd (not sure how I went so long without seeing it but it was like $5 on amazon) and so I was intrigued about the Albuquerque show. So good.

ALL the feels when they played Crown of Thorns. That performance gives me goosebumps. Emotional as hell.

As far as Boise 2000 goes: I wouldn't even call it underrated anymore. I mean, everyone loves it, right?

I agree with some other 2000 shows (Fresno, Toronto).

Ditto. I love that Ottawa show. It might my #1 attended show. Toronto was the only show that I was sick at. It took some of the enjoyment out of it. However, it's only true deficiency, in my opinion, is on-stage guests. It was memorable but unnecessary. The only guest stars I enjoy are anyone for Hunger Strike or Ben Harper.
